Before you begin

Ensure that you have first configured an XModbus remote. For information on remote configuration, refer to volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

  1. In the Advanced Database Editor (ADE), select View > CGL.

  2. After accessing the CGL view, double-click on the CGL Template table icon.

The Cgltemplate Table Edit dialog box opens.

  4. Configure the following fields:

    • Name

    • Description

    • Group

    • Dataset

  5. In the CGL Protocol Template field, select the template associated with the protocol.

Important: As soon as you select a template, the CGL Protocol Template field immediately becomes read-only.

Note: AVEVA personnel typically set up all the available protocol templates at some point during the lifetime of a project.

  6. Save the record.

  7. Open the Row Edit dialog box for the record.

  8. Select Configure.

The CGL Editor opens with the name of the new CGL template displayed.

If the CGL template was created from scratch, and not copied from an existing template, you will see the default menu of supported features.
