AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

Cross-reference tag names

For each ImportExportConfig record, create a dataexchange record if you set the User Xref field on the ImportExportConfig Row Edit dialog box to yes (refer to Define import process parameters and Define export process parameters). Setting this field to yes instructs the application to use the corresponding dataexchange record to cross-reference AVEVA Enterprise SCADA tag names with external system tag names.

Dataexchange records are stored in the dataexchange table, and configured and edited using the dataexchange Row Edit dialog box within the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE and how to create records, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation.

To cross-reference tag names

  1. Navigate to the dataexchange Row Details dialog box.

  2. Refer to the table below for instructions on configuring the items on the dataexchange Row Details dialog box.

    Item

    Instruction

    Customer Name

Enter the name of the interface customer as per the following rules:

    Dataset

Select (...) and, from the Dataset Select dialog box, select the name of the dataset you want to associate with this record.

A dataset contains privileges assigned for each system and mode. Once a record is assigned to a data set value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record. A record’s dataset can not be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record.

    Customer Tag

    Enter the customer tag name.

    Point Path

Select (...) and, from the Output Point Path Selector dialog box, select the name of the fully qualified AVEVA Enterprise SCADA point name.

    Format

Enter the format string to use when exporting this tag if the Format field on the ImportExportConfig Row Edit dialog box reads "DATABASE" (refer to Define export process parameters).
