When performing local debugging, you have to decide between the tool provided by Visual Studio.NET or Microsoft Common Language Runtime (CLR) Debugger.
If the component resides on a PC that has Visual Studio.NET installed, you debug the component as follows:
-
Start Microsoft Visual Studio.NET on the host where the component is installed.
-
Select the Tools menu and select Debug Processes.
-
Select the BLTHost process that is hosting your application, and select Attach.
-
Select Managed, then select OK.
Visual Studio.NET will attach to the process. You can then use the debugger to set a breakpoint in your code. If the local host does not have source code installed, and if your security and network provisions allow it, you can map a network drive to the Test and Development System and open a source code file from there. When you stop debugging or close Visual Studio.NET, the BLTHost process will terminate.
