AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

Critical Alarms

This application monitors analog, status, and multistate points configured as critical points for any critical alarm conditions. If one of these points goes into alarm, the application sends a Critical Alarm Active notification to easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS). This notification triggers two events:

  • The Critical Alarm window appears on the computers of all Controllers with DNA Permission - Critical_Alarms permission.

The Critical Alarm window notifies Controllers that a critical condition exists in the system. The window stays in the foreground and cannot be manually closed: the window closes automatically after the Controller clears or acknowledges all critical alarms.

  • A status or multistate point controlling an audible alarm triggers AVEVA Enterprise SCADA to generate said alarm.

Note: The Critical Alarms feature only supports hilo category critical alarms (HIGH-HIGH, HIGH, LOW, LOW-LOW, INSTR FAIL HIGH, INSTR FAIL LOW). The support extends to USER HIGH and USER LOW alarms when those are integrated into the hilo category as per the procedure in Integrate User Alarm Limits with Default Hilo Alarms).
