Item

Description

Wait time for ACK/NAK (ms)

Enter the maximum time (in milliseconds) to wait for a reply to a query.

Duplex Setting

Select the DF1 protocol driver session layer operation mode:

  • Full Duplex. Full Duplex mode uses separate transmit and receive lines.

  • Half Duplex. Half Duplex mode does not use separate transmit and receive lines. As a result, all data from the remote has to be requested, as opposed to sending it itself.

Error checking method

Select the driver error detection algorithm used by the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU). Select either Block Check Character checksum (BCC) or Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC).

Notes: The CRC algorithm is better at detecting errors, and is recommended for new installations.

The error detection algorithm must be the same for all RTUs on the same communication channel.

Address of gateway

Enter the address of the gateway used for communication.

Gateway Type

Select the type of gateway use to connect with the remote:

  • No Gateway

  • 1785-KE

  • 1770-KF2

Host Address

Enter the station address for the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA host.

For further information on the drivers, refer to volume 2 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
