Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.
The spooler can be configured to call one or multiple stored procedures, which in turn add new device-based data to the Historical database. The DEVICE_BASED_HISTORY_BATCH_SIZE key determines the maximum number of stored procedures one spooler transaction calls. The default is 20: one spooler transaction takes care of up to 20 device-based data records. For performance reasons, you can change this value. The performance depends largely on RAM space: if RAM is low, the optimal batch size might be closer to 5 than 20.
To configure the number of spooler transaction calls
-
In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the RealTime_Collect.json file.
-
In the following line, change the value to the desired number of spooler transaction calls:
"RealTime" > "DEVICE_BASED_HISTORY_BATCH_SIZE": 20
-
Save the file.
-
Restart the RealTime service.
