Unit start warnings

You can configure Compressor Performance Monitoring (CPM) to warn Controllers about certain changes in the available and allocated starts.
Controllers are warned if the:
-
Annual allocation of available starts for a compressor has been consumed.
-
Number of allocated starts remaining for a compressor is less than the start warning limit.
For information about configuring the annual start allocation and start warning limit, refer to Compressor Row Edit: Alarming tab.
For unit start warnings to be issued, a status point that is configured as an output point must exist. Controllers must be able to start the compressor by issuing start commands to this status point.
When Controllers attempt to start a unit from easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS), the application compares the number of attempted starts for the current year to the annual unit start allocation. If the number of attempted starts exceeds the annual unit start allocation, a warning is presented to the Controller through easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS).
If the number of attempted starts for the current year has not exceeded the annual unit start allocation, the application calculates the number of starts still available for the year and compares the result to the start warning limit as follows:
starts remaining = annual start allocation - current year starts
If the number of starts remaining is less than or equal to the start warning limit for the unit, a warning is presented to the Controller through ezXOS.
When presented with a start warning through ezXOS, the Controller can choose to do one of the following:
-
Cancel the unit start.
-
Confirm the attempt and carry on with the start.
OASyS DNA Device Tagging functionality is used to provide start warnings. The CPM application creates and removes device warning tags on the status point used to control the compressor. The warning tag description indicates that the tag was created by the CPM application. An event is logged by the CPM application when a warning tag is created or removed.
