New subroutines can be defined in the Application Calculation Engine (ACE) procedure class.
This syntax shows how new subroutines can be defined in the ACE procedure class in Visual Basic (VB) .NET Framework (VB.NET).
Public Sub LogMessage(message As String)
DNALog.WriteLog(DNALog.LogLevel.Always, message)
End Sub
Notes: The subroutines must be defined at the class scope.
The ACE Editor must be taken out of Simple View mode to define subroutines.
Simple View mode strips any modified text before the code comment Insert user ACE code here and after the code comment Now return the output. To avoid accidentally deleting subroutines after loading code using Simple View
mode, delete those code comments. After deleting the code comments, the ACE code will
always be presented using Complex View mode, even when Simple View mode is selected.
