On/Off Delay enhancement

The On/Off Delay enhancement delays the generation of alarms, as well as the clearing of alarms when a return to normal condition occurs.

  • On Delay: the system delays generating an alarm until it's sure that the condition exists.

  • Off Delay: the system delays clearing the alarm until it's sure that the condition has cleared. When an abnormal condition occurs, and the on-delay duration is non-zero, a timer is created.

The state of the point changes instantly, and AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates an event. When the timer times out, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates an alarm.

If an on-delay timer is active, and the state returns to normal, the timer is canceled.

When a return to normal condition occurs, and the off-delay duration is non-zero, a timer is created. The state of the point changes instantly, and AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates an event. When the timer times out, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates a return to normal alarm.

If an abnormal state alarm occurs before the return to normal timer times out, the timer is canceled.
