Protocol-specific Fields

Field

Description

Bit Number

Enter the bit address in decimal format.

Note: The Output tab in the status Row Edit dialog box does not have a Bit Number field.

If applicable, specify the bit number in the Coordinate field as follows:

WordNumn or <FileType><FileNumber>:<WordNumn>\n

Where:

  • n is the bit number.

Note: The bit number range is from 0 to 15.

For Timer, Counter, and contRol file types, the format is:

    <FileType><FileNumber>:<WordNum>[.structure member mnemonic]

For Input Bit, Output Bit, and Status file type, the format is:

    <FileType>:<WordNum>

    Where:

  • FileType is a one-letter code summarized in Supported file types for point configuration

  • WordNum is a three-digit decimal number for Status, Bit, Timer, Counter, contRol, iNteger, and Floating point file types.

  • structure member mnemonic is optional for Timer, Counter and contRol files, as follows:

Input Bit 1 Coordinates uses the Bit Type File 123, and reads word 100 and bit 0.

Input Bit 2 Coordinates uses the Bit Type File 123, and reads word 100 and bit 1.

Output Bit 1 Coordinates uses the Bit Type File 123, and writes word 100 and bit 2.

Output Bit 2 Coordinates uses the Bit Type File 123, and writes word 100 and bit 3.

Note: The Coordinates specification for the input does not indicate which bit to read from the word. Therefore, you must configure the Bit Number field in the Input tab (refer to volume 1 of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA RealTime Administrator documentation).
