Arrange tabs in the correct order

In this example, when you execute the DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge command, DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge processes the tabs in the following order:

Note: farms is used as both the <component> and <table> name.

  1. %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\baseline\farms\farms.xml

This file contains two tabs: Main and Input.

  2. %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\custom\farms\farms.Alter.xml

This file contains two tabs: Alarming Limit and Alarming.

The Alarming Limit tab cannot set the ComesAfter attribute to the Alarming tab because the Alarming tab does not exist when the Alarming Limit tab is created.

The Alarming tab, meanwhile, can set the ComesAfter attribute to either Main, Input, or Alarming Limit tabs because they predate the Alarming tab.

The Alarming Limit tab sets the ComesAfter attribute as Input, while the Alarming tab sets the ComesAfter attribute to Alarming Limit.

  3. %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\custom\zz_farms\farms.Alter.xml

This file contains an Averages tab.

The zz_farms\farms.Alter.xml file is the last file DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge processes for the farms table. Once the Main, Input, Alarming Limit, and Alarming tabs are created, you can set the ComesAfter attribute to any of these existing tabs.

The intended order of the tabs in the farms form is as follows:

  • Main

  • Input

  • Alarming Limit

  • Alarming

  • Averages

However, you now desire that the order of the tabs be as follows:

  • Main

  • Input

  • Averages

  • Alarming Limit

  • Alarming

To achieve the new order above, proceed as follows:

  1. Rename the %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\custom\zz_farms folder to %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\custom\afarms.

  2. Set the ComesAfter attribute to the Input tab.

  3. Change the ComesAfter attribute for the Alarming Limit tab to the Averages tab.

Execute the DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge command (refer to Merge all DBEdit XML files).
