Modify the RowEditFormPlugIn plugin behaviour

You can modify the RowEditFormPlugIn plugin behavior to apply the constraint on both the Row Edit and Table Edit forms, or to limit the constraint on only the Row Edit form.

To modify the RowEditFormPlugIn plugin behavior (example)

Assume you want the CompareValuesRowEdit plugin to work in the Row Edit form, but not in the Table Edit form. The CompareValuesRowEdit plugin has the ApplyFieldRules attribute set to true, which means that the RowEditFormPlugIn plugin constraint applies to both the Row Edit and Table Edit forms.

  1. Navigate to the following directory:

    %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\Regex

  2. Create a new file called ADERegex_Custom.xml.

  3. Copy and paste the contents of the ADEPlugIns.xml file into the new file.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    <ADEPlugInSchema xmlns="http://www.telvent.com/ADEPlugInSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.telvent.com/ADEPlugInSchema ADEPlugInSchemaAlter.xsd">

    <PlugIn Name="CompareValuesRowEditTest"

    Assembly="OASySDNA.ADE.PlugIns"

    Class="CompareValues"

    Method="CompareValuesRowEdit"

    PlugInType="RowEditForm"

    ApplyFieldRules="false" />

    </ADEPlugInSchema>

  4. Change PlugIn Name to CompareValuesRowEditTest.

  5. Change ApplyFieldRules from true to false.

  6. Save the file.

    When you open the Row Edit form, the system still performs the compare operation and generates an error message. When you open the Table Edit form, no comparison is performed because the CompareValuesRowEditTest plugin does not apply to the field rule now that ApplyFieldRules is false.
