Multiple applications can share one spooler. To ensure fast transactions when the host receives history data from the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), the Field Device Trend History application has its own dedicated spooler. Follow this procedure to ensure the application works properly.
To update the dedicated spooler for the application
-
Open Windows Explorer, and navigate to %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings.
-
If a RealTime_XACT.json file exists, open it for editing.
Alternatively, create a new RealTime_XACT.json file if the file does not exist in the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory.
Note: The same named file located in %DNAInstallRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings can be used as a reference.
The following is a sample RealTime_XACT.json file:
{
"RealTime": {
"XACT": {
"Queues": {
"Historical": {
"Size": 102400,
"DALDirectory" : ""
},
"RealTime": {
"Size": 20480,
"DALDirectory" : ""
},
"LMS": {
"Size": 20480,
"DALDirectory" : ""
},
"RTUDataDump": {
"Size": 10240,
"DALDirectory" : ""
}
}
}
}
}
-
Nest the following entry under "Queues" if it does not already exist:
"RTUDataDump": {
"Size" : <QueueSize in KB>,
"DALDirectory" : ""
}
-
Modify the queue size as required.
-
Save the custom Realtime_XACT.json file.
-
Copy the custom Realtime_XACT.json file to all systems.
-
Restart the RealTime service on all systems.
