Use the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) Composer to review analog telemetry points associated with a remote, modify the Model Tags, and enter a Setpoint Command. For information on how to generate a list of remotes, refer to Create a simulation configuration file.

To review analog telemetry points

  1. Open an existing simulation configuration file or create a new configuration file. If you are opening an existing configuration file, the Available list will be blank. If you have remotes in the RealTime database (RTDB) that are not in the Selected list, they will appear in the Available list after you refresh the data.

Note: If no remotes appear in the Selected list after you have refreshed the data:

    — You may not have a connection to the RTDB.
    — All available remotes have been selected, thereforethere are no others available.
    — The list has been filtered so no remotes are available that match the entered filter.

  2. From the Available pane, select the icon for each remote you wish to include.

The remotes move from the Available pane to the Selected pane.

  3. Select the Analogs tab.

    The Analogs view appears.

  4. Optional: In the Filter, enter your desired parameters to narrow the list.

The list of analogs automatically updates.

  5. Optional: To sort the columns by ascending or descending order, select the column to change the order.

Note: The default for the column order is set to ascending.

  6. Optional: In the Model Tag column, double-click the desired Model Tag to modify the value. The Model Tag is the key used to retrieve information from the Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) simulation.

Notes: The gray Model Tags indicate derivation by implicit naming rules. Any manual entry will override an implicit naming rule and mark the Model Tag as explicit (indicated by black font).

Analog points configured without input enabled will not have editable fields for Model Tags.
For more information, refer to the Tools Developer documentation.

    • To revert changes while editing a Model Tag, press Esc.

    • To commit the change and mark the Model Tag as explicit, press Tab or select another cell in the grid.

  7. Optional: In the Setpoint Command column, double-click the desired line, and enter a command. The Setpoint Command is the key used to issue a command to the SPS simulation.

Notes: The gray Setpoint Commands indicate derivation by implicit naming rules. Any manual entry will override an implicit naming rule and mark the Setpoint Command as explicit (indicated by black font).

Analog points configured without output enabled will not have editable fields for Setpoint commands.
For more information, refer to Working with Rules for Derivation of Model Tags.

  8. To revert changes while editing a Setpoint Command, press Esc

    • To commit the change and mark the Setpoint Command as explicit, press Enter or move to another cell.

  9. To save, hover over the Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE) icon, and select the Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE) icon.
