This application works to ensure that the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA information presented to the Controller accurately and reliably reflects the input or output of each field instrument.
During Point to Point Verification, a Controller or an Administrator documents the actual instrumented values in the field alongside the corresponding AVEVA Enterprise SCADA display values. The application records the verification date, as well as the names of individuals involved in the verification, to demonstrate thoroughness and authenticity.
Normally, you would perform Point to Point Verification when changes occur to field equipment or displays that affect safety.
Point to Point Verification proceeds as follows:
-
Controller/Administrator responsible for verifying the point logs on to easy Extended Operator Station (ezXOS).
-
Field technician at the station observes the instrumented value.
In some cases, you can perform this step from the control center with Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) administration software, or, alternatively, from a Remote location with Remote client access to displays.
-
Controller/Administrator observes the value on either a station schematic or summary window and, in communication with the field technician, compares the value with the instrumented value at the station.
-
Using the Point Verification Control dialog box associated with the point, the Controller/Administrator records both the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA value and the field value.
-
Controller/Administrator checks the alarm setpoint values for the point.
-
(Optional) the Controller/Administrator cycles the instrumented value through all possible states or alarm conditions to verify that AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates the corresponding alarms.
