Define a connection used to communicate with the remote.
Provided that the physical data link supports the multi-drop topology, you can configure one or more remotes to share the same connection record. For further information on the connection table, refer to volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
To configure a connection
-
Navigate to the Main tab in the connection Row Edit dialog box.

-
In the Protocol field, select SNMP.
-
Select Enable Connection FEP.
Note: FEP stands for Front End Processor.
-
In the Protocol Specific Configuration field, enter SNMP.
-
Restart the RealTime service to load the oasysSNMPFEP(FEP) process.
-
Select the Physical Connection Edit tab.

-
In the Term. Server/Host Name field, enter the IP address of the system where the FEP process (oasysSNMPFEP) runs.
For example, if the SNMP services are running locally on a standalone system, enter 127.0.0.1.
-
Enter the Port Number that your FEP process will use for listening.
Note: This is not the default SNMP service port (161) used by the SNMP server.
