The Compressor Performance Monitoring (CPM) application monitors the performance of compressors and maintains compressor (unit) statistics for the purposes of ensuring efficient operation, avoiding damage, planning maintenance, and recording problems.
CPM is comprised of components that:
-
Display current performance curves (speed vs. efficiency) for a specified compressor based on the manufacturer's data for the compressor
-
Generate and display the location of current and historical operating points (flow rate vs. head pressure) on the compressor performance curves
-
Generate alarms to warn Controllers that a compressor may be approaching an undesirable state (for example, surge)
-
Maintain a history of the operating point based on available telemetry
-
Maintain and display accumulation values for operating statistics, such as compressor run time and the number of compressor starts for a specified compressor
