CMXRep route connection

When all servers are inside the SCADA domain, the default connection for the CMXrepsvr route is the destination server initiating the connection to the source server. However, when the destination server is outside the SCADA domain (for example, on a corporate network where firewall rules would block inbound connections from outside the SCADA domain), CMXrepsvr would need to initiate the route connection to the destination server. To achieve the latter, you need to configure the following parameters:
-
connectToSource
Use this parameter to indicate whether or not the destination system is to initiate a connection to the source system for the subscribed data. By default, the parameter has a value of 1, which indicates that the destination system will initiate a connection to the source system. A value of 0 means the destination system will not initiate a connection to the source system. If the default value is preferred, there is no need to configure this parameter in the CMXRep configuration file.
-
connectToDest
Use this parameter to indicate whether or not the source system is to initiate a connection to the destination system for the data that the source system is delivering to the destination system. By default, the parameter has a value of 0, which indicates that the source system will not initiate a connection to the destination system. A value of 1 means the source system will initiate a connection to the destination system. If the default value is preferred, there is no need to configure this parameter in the CMXRep configuration file.
-
routeToSourceEnabled
This parameter is used in conjunction with the connectToSource parameter. If connectToSource is enabled, enable routeToSourceEnabled as well so that the destination system receives data from the source system. By default, this parameter has a value of 1. If the default value is preferred, there is no need to configure this parameter in the CMXRep configuration file.
-
routeToDestEnabled
This parameter is used in conjunction with the connectToDest parameter. If connectToDest is enabled, enable routeToDestEnabled as well so that a) the destination system receives data from the source system and b) the source system initiates the connection to the destination system. By default, this parameter has a value of 0. To enable the source system to connect to the destination system, set the value for this parameter to 1.
