Add an Enumeration to an Enumeration Method

As explained above, Decode Templates use Decode Methods to build a complete stored procedure. An Enumeration Method is associated with a particular Decode Method parameter of type "Enumeration". Each Enumeration Method consists of one or more Enumerations. Each of these Enumerations indicates the value that Data Payload Processor (DPP) should return to the parameter when it finds a value match in an inbound raw record.

For example, the Decode Template "Upload AGA Meter Color" has a Decode Method parameter named "Text Value". "Text Value" is of type "Enumeration". The Enumeration Method associated with this parameter has an enumeration whose Value field = "8", and Enumeration field = "Yellow". When DPP finds a Text Value parameter in the raw record whose value = "8", it returns the Enumeration "Yellow".

To add an Enumeration to an Enumeration Method

  1. On the DPP Config Tool window, select New > New Decode Enumeration.

    The Enumeration dialog box opens.

The Decode Method field lists the Enumeration Methods currently configured in the system. DPP automatically creates an Enumeration Method when you set a Decode Template parameter as type Enumeration (refer to Create a Decode Template.)

The Decode Method name takes the following format:

    DecodeTemplateName / StoredProcedureParameter

Enumerations belong to particular Enumeration Methods. When you select a different Enumeration Method in the Decode Method field, the table in the Enumeration dialog box updates with Enumerations specific to the selected Decode Method.

  2. In the Decode Method field, select the Enumeration Method to which you want to add an Enumeration.

  3. Select Add Row.

A new row with an automatically generated ID appears as the last row in the table.

  4. Configure the remaining cells in the new row.

  5. Select Save.

  6. Back on the DPP Config Tool window, select Refresh.

The new Enumeration should now appear in the Enumeration Define tab of the DPP Config Tool window.
