Use the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) Composer to refresh an existing configuration file with RealTime database (RTDB) data.
To refresh an existing configuration file
-
Open an existing configuration file. For information on how to do this, refer to Open a simulation configuration file.
-
Hover over the
icon, and select the
icon.

-
The Available pane will contain any remotes from the RTDB that were not previously selected.
-
The Selected pane will contain any remotes that were previously selected.
-
The ANALOGS, DIGITALS, COMMANDS, RATES, and STRINGS tabs will contain refreshed telemetry data for the selected remotes.
-
Explicit model tags, setpoint commands, model commands, flow rate tags, and volume tags will be preserved.
-
Implicit model tags, setpoint commands, model commands, flow rate tags, and volume tags will be refreshed to reflect the derivation rules contained within the Naming Rules plugin.
-
Any selected remotes that do not contain valid configuration information or no longer exist in the RTDB (either deleted or renamed) will not be refreshed (indicated by the
icon). The configuration file cannot be saved until either the erroneous remotes
are removed or the configuration issues are resolved in the RTDB and the data refreshed.

Optional: To exclude a remote from the Selected pane, select the
icon for each remote you wish to exclude.
-
Optional: Explicitly set any model tags, setpoint commands, model commands, flow rate tags, and volume tags that require modification.
-
Optional: To save, hover over the

Note: Saving will overwrite the configuration file that was opened for editing. To save a copy of the configuration file without replacing the original, select the
icon and save the file with a new file name.
