Create a new Management of Change (MoC) package

You can use the Management of Change (MoC) Package tool (dnapackage) to create a new MoC package. The package status will be Origin in the MoC zone where it was created (for more information, refer to Understanding the status of an MoC package).

Note: The package store (managed by the MOCOrchestrator service) must be available to successfully execute this command.

To create a new MoC package

  1. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  2. Execute the following command:

    set-silo realtime

  3. Execute the following command to create a new MoC package:

    dnapackage create --package <package file path> --title "<package title>" [--description "<package description>"] [--dalfolder <DAL configuration folder> --username <remote username> --password <remote password>]

Best Practice: Create a directory outside the bin directory to organize and store your packages, as access to the bin directory will be limited and the files may be difficult to find.

    Where:

    • --package <package file path> is the fully qualified path to the package file you want to create.

Note: The package file will automatically have the appended .pkg extension unless a different extension is specified.

    • --title "<package title>" is the title of the package.

    • --description "<package description>" is an optional parameter to specify a description for the package.

    • --dalfolder <DAL configuration folder> is the DAL configuration folder name on the remote system you are trying to connect to (for example, --dalfolder systemName\control_room).

    • --username <remote username> is the username of the user on the remote system you are trying to connect to.

    • --password <remote password> is the password of the user on the remote system you are trying to connect to.

Note: The --dalfolder <DAL configuration folder>, --username <remote username>, and --password <remote password> parameters do not need to be included if you are creating a package on the same server as the MOCOrchestrator service. These parameters are mandatory if you are creating a package on any other server that does not have the MOCOrchestrator service. For example, creating a package on the Production MoC zone would require remote DAL configuration to connect to the MOCOrchestrator service.
