Follow this procedure to configured a remote or connection to use any custom translator in the Software Analyzer (SWANA).

To use custom translators in SWANA

  1. In the Advanced Database Editor (ADE), select View > RealTime.

  2. Navigate to remote record.

  3. On the Main tab in the remote Row Edit dialog box, enter the name of the custom translator (as defined in the Name property of the custom translator) in the Translator field.

    Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

  4. During communication sequences where a remote record may not be available to reference for a custom translator, the custom translator can be added to the connection record. Navigate to connection record.

  5. On the Main tab in the connection Row Edit dialog box, enter the name of the custom translator in the Translator field.

    Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

Note: The custom translator configuration on a connection record will only be used if there is no remote record available to Omnicomm for a specific communication sequence. This is the case for some communication sequences when a connection is configured to use Communication Mode of Remote Poll, Listen-Only, or Cry-Out. For further information on the connection table, refer to volume 1 of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA RealTime Administrator documentation.
