Unit operating hours

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

The accumulated operating time for each unit is calculated and maintained for the current and previous hour, day, month, and year.

The unit is considered to be operating when:

  • Status feedback indicates the ON or TRANSIT state.

  • Engine/Compressor speed feedback is above the specified started speed.

Accumulated unit operating time is calculated as follows:

new accumulated time = old accumulated time + (current time - last time)

The accumulated time is maintained to the nearest minute and is rolled over at the top of each day, month, and year. This data is available for reporting and display purposes using the tools provided with OASyS DNA or other tools such as Microsoft Excel. Data is maintained in the RealTime database (RTDB) and represented as hours and fractions of hours. For example, a value of 1254.2 hours is equal to 1254 hours and 12 minutes.

If necessary, the Controller can manually override the accumulated unit run time (daily, monthly, or annual) through easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) to reconcile the unit run time. The override does not prevent the run time from incrementing further as the existing run time is simply replaced with the new run time specified by the Controller. Changes to the unit run time are logged to the OASyS DNA Event Summary.
