You can use the Management of Change (MoC) Package tool (dnapackage) to extract file attachments from an existing MoC package. An attached file is a file that can be included in the package. The attached file does not get installed on the destination server using the dnapackage install command.

To extract attached files from an MoC package

  1. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  2. Execute the following commands:

    set-silo RealTime

    dnapackage extract -–package <package file path> --path <destination path> --file <file name>

    Where:

    • --package <package file path> is the fully qualified path to the package file you want to extract the attached files from.

    • --path <destination path> is the fully qualified path to the folder you want to extract the attached files to.

    • --file <file name> is the name of the file to extract from the package.

For more information, refer to View the contents of a Management of Change (MoC) package to determine what files can be extracted from a package.

Note: If the provided folder already contains a file with the same name as the attached file, an error message is displayed stating the files could not be extracted.

      For example:

dnapackage extract –package C:\temp\package.pkg –path C:\attachments --file attachment1.docx
