Service Type Properties

The Properties dialog box for a service is accessed through the action menu.

You can modify the properties of an existing service type through the following three tabs on the Properties dialog box:

• Service Type Properties - General

• Service Type Properties - Arbitration

• Service Type Properties - Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)

  Note: Some of the fields on these tabs are identical to the fields used on the Create a New Service Type wizard. For more information, refer to Create a new service type.

To access the Properties dialog box and modify a service type, follow the procedure outlined below.

1. Select the Service Types folder in the Network Management Console (NMC).

   The right pane will populate with the existing service types.

2. Right-click a service type and select Properties to open the Properties dialog box for that service type.

3. Select the tab for the property dialog box you want and make the necessary changes to the fields.

4. Select Apply and repeat steps 3 and 4 for each property dialog box you require.

5. Choose one of the following:

   • Select OK to dismiss the property dialog box and save your changes.

   • Select Cancel to exit the properties dialog box and abandon your changes.
