Configure Data Access Layer (DAL) to access Archive service

To successfully use the Archive service from a subordinate system, a customized Data Access Layer (DAL) configuration file is needed.

To configure DAL for Archive Service

1. Configure the DAL file. For more information on configuring DAL, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Tools Administrator documentation.

   For a list of configurable parameters and an example file, refer to Understanding the single Historical Archive Data Access Layer (DAL) file.

2. Place the DALConfig_SingleArchive_PDC.xml DAL file in the %DNADataRoot%\Shared\config\DAL\<SystemName>\<ConnectionOption> folders for each system name and connection option.

   Where:

   • <SystemName> refers to all the Historical subordinate systems that share the same principal.

     For example:

     %DNADataRoot%\Shared\config\DAL\PDC1\control_room\DALConfig_SingleArchive_PDC.xml
