Renamed Point History

  • Last UpdatedNov 02, 2023

The Renamed Point History feature allows you to rename analog, rate, status, and multistate records without losing all the points' Historical data collected up to that point in time. The feature automatically renames any tags currently associated with a record when the record itself is renamed.

Previously, renaming a record would result in the loss of the point's Historical data. With this enhancement, Historical data is retained after a record name change. Both the Historical Quick Trend window and the Global Trendset window continue to display the values collected for the point under its old name, in addition to also displaying all incoming values collected under the new name.

Notes: When the feature is enabled, the system may take up to 15 minutes to rename the tag or tags after a record is renamed. Likewise, when disabled, the system may take up to 15 minutes to create a new tag when a record is renamed.

After a point name change and prior to any further changes on trendset (for example, granularity or window size or new pen addition), you must verify if the pen path has been updated automatically to the path that is using the new name. For more information, refer to Verify the updated path for a renamed record.
