Historical release notes

  • Last UpdatedMay 04, 2026
  • 3 minute read

The Historical release notes contain information on applicable expectations and limitations, new features and enhancements, fixed and known issues, and documentation included in this release.

Historical expectations and limitations

The following expectations and limitations should be considered for this release:

  • If you are upgrading an AVEVA Enterprise SCADA installation that includes datapump, you must reconfigure datapump using the new SAMPLE directory before installing your datapump configuration.

For more information, refer to "Configure Datapump using the SAMPLE directory" in the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Historical Administrator documentation.

Historical new features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • AVEVA Enterprise SCADA now supports Always On Availability Groups, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for your critical data. This new feature offers seamless failover capabilities, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.

    Key Benefits:

    • Faster recovery time.

    • More consistent with most IT applications.

    • More familiar to modern Database Administrators (DBAs).

    • Hardware simplification (no need for a Storage Area Network (SAN)/Network Attached Storage (NAS), no fiber channel or extra network cards).

For further information, refer to the following sections of user documentation:

    • AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Historical Administrator documentation:

      • "Install the Datapump configuration"

      • "Enable partitioning for TimeSeries collect"

      • "Configure startup and shutdown"

For information around installation, please contact AVEVA Customer Support.

  • Administrators can now upgrade Historical databases individually rather than all at once. This improvement provides greater flexibility and control, allowing for more efficient and targeted upgrades. Administrators can manage and upgrade each Historical database independently, ensuring smoother transitions and minimizing disruptions.

Note: The current bulk update process is still supported and has not changed.
