CompareValuesRowEdit

The CompareValuesRowEdit plugin allows Administrators to specify constraints for a record rather than specifying the constraints on each column.

The parameters are as follows:

 • Name="CompareValuesRowEdit".

 • Args is the comparison between columns separated by a comma (for example, field1 key to use for comparison field2, field3 key to use for comparison field4, ...).

For example, we would like to insert a constraint saying that the Output Engineering Raw values (corresponding to the oengr_@rawmin and oengr_@rawmax fields) must be within the boundary of the Input Engineering Raw values (corresponding to the iengr_@rawmin and iengr_@rawmax fields). One way to add a constraint is to configure at the Field level for each affected field. In the example below, CompareValuesField FieldPlugIn is used, and, in the arguments to the plugin, the logical comparison to the other three related fields is specified.

<Field

Name="iengr_@rawmin"

.

.

DisplayWidthToUse="Maximum">

<FieldPlugIn Name="CompareValuesField" Args="< iengr_@rawmax, <= oengr_@rawmin, < oengr_@rawmax" />

</Field>

<Field

Name="iengr_@rawmax"

.

.

DisplayWidthToUse="Maximum">

<FieldPlugIn Name="CompareValuesField" Args="> iengr_@rawmin, >= 0engr_@rawmax, > oengr_@rawmin" />

</Field>

<Field

Name="oengr_@rawmin"

.

.

DisplayWidthToUse="Maximum">

<FieldPlugIn Name="CompareValuesField" Args="< oengr_@rawmax, >= iengr_@rawmin, < iengr_@rawmax" />

</Field>

<Field

Name="oengr_@rawmax"

.

.

DisplayWidthToUse="Maximum">

<FieldPlugIn Name="CompareValuesField" Args="> oengr_@rawmin, <= iengr_@rawmax, > iengr_@rawmin" />

</Field>

Alternatively, at the DataSetTable level at the beginning of the XML file, use the CompareValuesRowEdit plugin and specify the logical comparison of all four affected fields in the plugin argument.

<DataSetTable

Name="farms"

.

.

DataDisplayWidthMax="300">

<RowEditFormPlugIn

Name="CompareValuesRowEdit"

Args="iengr_@rawmax >= oengr_@rawmax, iengr_@rawmax > iengr_@rawmin, oengr_@rawmax > oengr_@rawmin, iengr_@rawmin <= oengr_@rawmin" />

This constraint replaces the individual constraints defined for each of the columns. Since the ApplyFieldRules attribute for CompareValuesRowEdit is set to true, this constraint applies to both the Row Edit and Table Edit forms.
