The tabs that appear in a form make use of the Group element. The only valid element you can add to a Group element is the SubGroup element.
To add a tab to a form
-
Navigate to the following directory and open the XML file for the form to which you want to add tabs (as per our example, the file in question is farms.xml or farms.Alter.xml).
%DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\[baseline | custom]
-
Add a Main tab to the form using Group element:
<DataSetTable
Name="farms"
<Group
Name="Main"
ToolTipText="Main config items"
Label="Main"
LabelDisplayWidth="130"
DataDisplayWidthMin="100"
DataDisplayWidthMedium="210"
DataDisplayWidthMax="400">
</Group>
/DataSetTable>
For information on the attributes used in the Group element, refer to Group element attributes.
-
Add other elements to the Group element.
The Group element cannot exist by itself without other elements inside of it.
-
Save and close the file.
-
On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.
Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.
-
Execute the DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge command (refer to Merge all DBEdit XML files).
