To add a Views element at the top of the View menu

  1. Navigate to the following directory and create a folder called baseline:

    %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\TreeLayout\Schema

  2. Within the baseline folder, create a folder called component.

  3. Within the component folder, create a file called DNATreeLayoutSchema.xml.

  4. Add the following content to the file:

    Note: In our example, the ViewType attribute for the Views element is set to Farms.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <DNATreeLayoutSchema xmlns="http://www.telvent.com/DNATreeLayoutSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.telvent.com/DNATreeLayoutSchema

    ..\..\..\DNATreeLayoutSchema.xsd">

    <Views ViewType="Farms" ToolTipText="Farms config View" IsVisible="true">

    </Views>

    </DNATreeLayoutSchema>

    For information on the attributes used in the file, see Views element attributes.

  5. Save the file.

  6. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  7. Execute the DNATreeLayoutSchemaMerge command (see Merge all DNATreeLayout XML files).

    The new Views element—Farms—appears at the top of the View menu.
