Local and remote services

Services are identified as being Remote or Local depending on how any given computer connects to the service.
Local services are always local to the computer and therefore are never arbitrated (or dual-hosted).
Remote services are always arbitrated (dual-hosted or at least capable of being dual-hosted) and therefore, at some point, might require a remote connection to a different computer.
Caution: There is a difference of perspective between the Local and Remote services. These services operate on a computer that hosts the RealTime service and the RealTime service (a remote, arbitrated service) is running as a local service. From the system perspective, it is a Remote service; from the individual computer perspective, it is a Local service.
