The Area of Responsibility (AOR) Group objects are used to associate closely related objects.
The objects contained in Layered Products, such as the RealTime analog records, will be assigned membership to an AOR Group. This assignment is made using the Layered Products editor.
Using the Network Management Console (NMC), the AOR Groups are created and assigned membership to one or more AOR Areas. The AOR Areas will define the users that are allowed access to the AOR group and the type of access. If the AOR Group is not assigned membership to any AOR Areas, then it is treated as a group assigned to all areas with the DNA Permission, meaning anyone can view the layered object and change it.
The Layered Products can add additional properties to the AOR Group. For instance, RealTime adds the name of the event spooler used to record event messages generated by the points that are members of the AOR Group.
