User Configurable Alarm Limits

The User Configurable Alarm Limits functionality provides you with two additional user-defined HiLo alarm limits that are independent of the standard HiLo alarm limits. The Analog, Rate, and flowTotalConfig tables support this enhancement.
When a point exceeds the user-defined Hi or Lo alarm limits, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates a persistent database alarm that differs in appearance from the default HiLo generated alarms as follows:
-
The alarm message is prepended with a "User Alarm Limit -" string.
Similarly, when a point using user-defined HiLo alarm limits returns to normal, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates a non-persistent database alarm that appears with the same characteristics described above for the original alarm.
Note: Unlike with standard HiLo alarm limits, an alarm generated as a result of a user-defined HiLo alarm limit does not change the visible alarm state of the point. For example, if an analog point appears green for "normal" on a schematic, and the point exceeds the user-defined Hi limit, the point does not change color or flash. Hence, such alarms act more like a notification to the Controller of a pre-alarm condition, as opposed to an actual level alarm.
