Understanding the DALPSBrowseTestApp browsing tool

The DALPSBrowseTestApp browsing tool is used to browse the topics in the RealTime database (RTDB) topic space. It is installed as part of the Tools/Debugging feature. If installed, it is available from all product silos. There is no non-Data Access Layer (DAL) version of this tool.

When the DALPSBrowseTestApp starts, you must select either a control room or remote DAL configuration. If a control room configuration is selected, a direct connection is created to the PubSub Engine. If a remote configuration is selected, the tool connects to the specified Remote Client Service (RCS). The RCS connects to the PubSub Engine on behalf of the tool at the time of the initial browse request.

The DALPSBrowseTestApp tool requires the RealTime service to be running to browse the topic space.
