Save a Decode Define as a new row

This procedure is similar to Create a Decode Define from an existing Decode Define. The new Decode Define retains the configuration settings of the original Decode Define, except for the attached templates.

To save a Decode Define as a new row

1. In the Decode Define tab of the Data Payload Processor (DPP) Config Tool window, right-click anywhere in the row of the Decode Define of interest and select Save as new Row.

   The new Decode Define appears as the last row on the Decode Define tab.

2. To edit the new Decode Define, right-click anywhere in the row and select Edit Define.

   The New Decode Define dialog box opens.

   

3. If desired, enter a different Decode ID to replace the automatically generated ID.

   Note: If you enter an ID that belongs to an existing Decode Define, DPP updates the fields on the New Decode Define dialog box with information specific to that Decode Define. If you plan on using a custom ID, always enter it as the first step in editing a Decode Define to avoid losing changes to the other fields.

4. Configure the remaining parameters as desired.
