Monitoring the warning limit and alarm limits on your system enables you to generate warnings and alarms when the available drive space on the system is past a certain threshold.

Note: This procedure can also be used to create Calculated Fields to monitor FreeSpace and DiskSize.

To monitor warning and alarm limits

  1. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  2. To execute the Config WMI Monitor, execute the following commands:

    set-silo Common

    ConfigWMIMonitor

The OASyS DNA WMI Monitor Wizard opens.

  3. Select Next.

    The Select Action page appears.

  4. Select Edit existing configuration, and then select Next.

The Select the Namespace/Class to monitored page appears.

  5. Select the desired namespace and class, and then select Next.

    The Configure Class page appears.

  6. Select Next.

    The Choose Fields page appears.

  7. From the Configured Class Fields pane, select either Warning Limit or Alarm Limit, and then select Modify Calculated Field.

The Calculated Field dialog box appears.

  8. Modify the field as necessary.

As an example, if you want a warning limit of 10%, in the Calculation field, enter the following:

    Convert((10 * Size/1048576)/100,’System.Int64’)

To adjust the warning limit to 15%, in the Calculation field, enter the following:

    Convert((15 * Size/1048576)/100,’System.Int64’)

  9. Select Ok.

    The Choose Fields page appears.

  10. Select Next on all subsequent pages, and then select Finish.
