As an Administrator, you can add new timeouts or delete existing ones from your AVEVA Enterprise SCADA domain. There are two main types of timeouts you can create: Inactivity or Pop-up.

  • Inactivity timeouts will log the user out of the easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) if there is no activity within a specified period of time.

  • Pop-up timeouts will close the current pop-up window in ezXOS if there is no activity within a specified period of time.

  • Custom timeouts allows the user to create and write custom codes for its unique conditions.

To create a new timeout

  1. In the Network Management Console window, right-click the Timeouts tab, and then select New Timeout.

    The Create Timeout Wizard appears.

  2. Select Next.

The General page for the Create Timeout Wizard appears.

  3. In the Name field, enter an appropriate name for the timeout.

This name will be shown in the General tab of the Timeout Properties after you have completed the wizard.

  4. In the Description field, enter any relevant or useful information that will help you identify the use of the newly created timeout.

This information will be shown on the General tab of the Timeout Properties after you have completed the wizard.

  5. In the Timeout (seconds) field, use the up and down arrows to select the length of the timeout in seconds.

  6. Use the dropdown menu to select a common Timeout Type (for example, Inactivity, Pop-up), or enter the name of a new timeout type in the text box.

Note: If you are creating a custom timeout, you will be required to write your own code that depends on the desired timeout type. There are no pre-determined custom code examples.

  7. Select Next.

  8. Review the summary page of the Create Timeout Wizard. If the information is correct, select Next.

  9. Select Finish to finalize the new timeout and close the Wizard.
