One-Shot Alarms

With the One-Shot Alarm feature, the Controller is capable of configuring a custom alarm against analog, rate, tank, or flowTotal records that will be reported when a value meets specified condition. One-Shot Alarms are stored as records in the Operator Reminder table and are essentially an extension of the Operator Reminder feature. Multiple conditions can be defined for the same point for different fields, conditions (operation), or limits (values).

The One-Shot Alarms reported are non-persistent alarms and will annunciate and behave same as other non-persistent alarms reported against the associated point. The Operator Reminder record that describes the One-Shot Alarm condition will be automatically removed as soon as the condition is met. This guarantees that each configured One-Shot Alarm will be reported only once.

The allowed operators are: <, >, and =.

The allowed fields are:

  • curval for analog points.

  • currate for rate points.

  • currentGS.volume and currentGO.volume for tank points.

  • totalBlocks[X] where X is an int value from 0 to 3 for flowTotalConfig points.

Whenever a One-Shot Alarm configuration is created or manually removed, the corresponding audit trail messages will be recorded and can be viewed in the Operational Activities summary.

Note: One-Shot alarm conditions ignore associated points' data quality. The system will still generate One-Shot alarms against a point that is stale if the One-Shot alarm condition is met.
