DALMultiSubscriber

The DALMultiSubscriber tool is installed as part of the Tools/Debugging feature. If installed, it is available from all product silos.

When the DALMultiSubscriber starts, it requires you to select either a control room or remote Data Access Layer (DAL) configuration. When the first subscription is added, the PubSub DAL driver initiates a connection to the PubSub Engine. If a control room configuration is selected, this is a direct connection to the PubSub Engine. If a remote configuration is selected, the Remote Client Service (RCS) connects to the remote PubSub Engine on the behalf of the tool.

If the PubSub system is shut down, the DALMultiSubscriber displays a PS_ENGINE_UNAVAIL message in the status bar at the bottom. Once the PubSub system is available, the DALMultiSubscriber reconnects automatically and restores all previously held subscriptions.

If the DALMultiSubscriber is disconnected manually from the PubSub DAL driver (by selecting Disconnect PubSub), all previous subscriptions are dropped. You must select Connect PubSub before adding any more subscriptions.

Hint: The topic dropdown menu contains the names of the previously subscribed topics, which you can use to resubscribe.

Note: The DALMultiSubscriber tool cannot be used to subscribe to the reserved pubsub.debug topic, because the PubSub DAL drivers ignore subscriptions to this topic. Use the MultiSubscriber tool instead.
