Associate a MsgInfo set with a Point Class Configurable Enumeration

You can associate a msgInfo set with one or more configurable enumerations of the point class category. The point class category contains multiple configuration enumerations used for categorical configuration of points.

Note: Point Sub Class is a configurable enumeration category used for categorical configurations, but you cannot use this for configurable alarms and events.

To associate a mgsInfo set with a point class configurable enumeration

1. Open the Advanced Database Editor (ADE), and locate the Configurable Enumerations (configEnum) table.

2. Double-click the configEnum table.

   The configenum Table Edit dialog box appears.

3. Select Point Class for the Category to filter the results.

   Only the point class enumerations available to use with the msgInfo set are listed.

   

4. Double-click the configenum record you want to associate with the msgInfo set.

   The configenum Row Details dialog box appears with the Name, Description, and Category fields populated with the data from the configenum record.

   

5. In the Messageinfo Set field, enter the msgInfo set name of the msgInfo set that applies to points of this point class.

   Note: The msgInfo set name is case sensitive.

6. Select Apply.

7. Save the changes when prompted.

   The message text and severity for alarm conditions within the assigned msgInfo set will be applied to any point with this point class.
