The Software Analyzer (SWANA), also known as Software Protocol Analyzer, monitors communications between Omnicomm and the remotes.
An interface, consisting of menus and dialog boxes, is provided for configuring SWANA. With the interface, you can configure the following:
-
Omnicomm connections to display
-
Message filters
-
Display properties
-
Files for saving the currently displayed messages
-
Files for recording incoming messages
The SWANA interface also allows you to control the display update and to search for message strings in the displayed messages.
SWANA runs independent of the RealTime service. It can be started on any host that is currently running the Common service (for example, easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS), RealTime host). SWANA configuration is not affected by RealTime service shutdowns, startups, or failovers. Neither is it affected by changes in a connection’s DistribuSys ownership. It can display messages from different Omnicomm processes running on several systems.
