Follow this procedure to configure the low and high cutoff limits for analog and rate values uploaded to the host, as well as the values used when a limit violation occurs.
Note: Analog setpoints issued outside of the high/low cutoff ranges may cause the setpoints to time out because the desired setpoint may never be reached.
To configure low/high cutoff values
Notes: The following procedure uses an analog point as an example. The procedure is similar
for configuring rate records.
The Input tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box is opened through the analog table
listing in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE, and further information on the analog table, refer
to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation and RealTime tables, respectively.
-
Navigate to the Input tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box.

-
Select Low Cutoff Enable.
-
In the Low Cutoff Limit field, enter the minimum acceptable analog value (non-negative integer).
Note: The Low Cutoff Limit value must be greater than the Minimum (EGU) value.
-
In the Low Cutoff Replacement field, enter the value the host should use if the uploaded analog value is below the Low Cutoff Limit.
-
Select High Cutoff Enable.
-
In the High Cutoff Limit field, enter the maximum acceptable analog value (non-negative integer).
Note: The High Cutoff Limit value must be less than the Maximum (EGU) value.
-
In the High Cutoff Replacement field, enter the value the host should use if the uploaded analog value is above the High Cutoff Limit.
