Follow this procedure to create a parameter which, when it appears in configuration for the upload of metering data, causes DPP to execute an associated stored procedure used in building the load type.

  1. On the Data Payload Processor (DPP) Config Tool window, select New > New Parameter Type Stored Procedure.

The Parameter Stored Procedure Define dialog box opens.

  2. In the ParameterType field, enter the name of the parameter.

    Note: Spaces are allowed.

  3. Enter a brief Description of the associated Stored Procedure.

  4. Enter the Stored Procedure used to retrieve a specific value when the ParameterType appears in configuration for the upload of metering data.

Note the following in regards to the stored procedure:

    • It can be a custom stored procedure.

    • It must only accept two arguments: meter name and record time.

    • It must not output characters that interfere with the mapping replacement.

    • It must output a single string value.

    • If the stored procedure returns a value that contains a space character, it will be replaced with "_". For example, "orifice meter" becomes "orifice_meter".

  5. Select Save.

  6. Back on the DPP Config Tool window, select Refresh.

The new parameter should now appear in the Parameter Store Proc Define tab of the DPP Config Tool window.
