AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

User Configurable Alarm Limits

  • Last UpdatedNov 02, 2023

The User Configurable Alarm Limits functionality provides two additional user-defined HiLo alarm limits that are independent of the standard HiLo alarm limits. The analog, rate, and flowTotalConfig tables support this enhancement.

When a point exceeds the user-defined Hi or Lo alarm limits, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates a persistent database alarm that differs in appearance from default HiLo generated alarms as follows:

The alarm message is prepended with a "User Alarm Limit -" string.

Note: These alarms are subject to alarm suppression (if configured accordingly via a configuration setting), regeneration, and inhibition.

Similarly, when a point using user-defined HiLo alarm limits returns to normal, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates a non-persistent database alarm that appears with the same characteristics described above for the original alarm.

The following, additional fields in the pnthilow structure of the analog, rate, and flowTotalConfig tables support this enhancement.
