Remote Row Edit: Gas Applications Configuration tab

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025

The Gas Applications Configuration tab is used primarily to set the timezone settings associated with Measurement data polled from the field device. On this tab, you can set the limits of acceptability for time skew, clock synchronization, and clock drift, in addition to configuring the timezone information.

Refer to the table below for field descriptions and instructions on how to configure the editable fields.

Item

Description

Use Lock Out

Select to suppress uploads after a successful TimeSync command.

Lock Out Hours

Enter the number of hours that uploads are suppressed after a successful TimeSync command.

Lock Out Expiry

This field displays the time that the lock out suppression will expire.

AGA Conversion Group

Enter or select the name of the aga_convert_item_grp record used to translate certain values read from AVEVA Measurement Advisor into the values expected by the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU).

For further information, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation.

Allowable time skew (min)

Clock skew (represented by the Allowable time skew (min) field) occurs when the server receives information at a different time than the device in the field. This field allows you to define the acceptable amount of time in minutes that the server time can differ from the field device time before a time synchronization will be performed.

Clock sync tolerance (min)

Clock synchronization (represented by the Clock sync tolerance (min) field) is the effort performed by two separate computer clocks to synchronize. If there is a failure to synchronize the time provided by the field device and the time at the server by the time at which the time skew tolerance was reached, the information sent to Measurement is marked with a data quality indicator of Clock Sync. The data quality indicator will alert the analyst, at which point s/he can accept the data manually.

Drift Tolerance (min)

Clock drift (represented by the Drift tolerance (min) field) is a phenomenon where, over time, the time reported by a clock becomes less and less precise. This setting allows you to define an acceptable amount of time in minutes by which the time can differ before the data sent to Measurement is marked by a data quality of Clock Drift. Measurement data that is marked by a data quality of Clock Drift is marked as invalid by the Measurement system processing.

Timezone

The name of the time zone currently in use.

Notes: If the field device is in a different time zone than the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA system, the timezone should reflect the field device's time zone.

The time zone information configured here should also be congruent with that displayed in the Gas Measurement and Analysis System.

Change Time Zone

Select to select a different time zone.

For information on configuring the time zones available for selection, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation.

Use Daylight Savings Time

Select if DST is used in the time zone.

RTU applies DST automatically

Select if the RTU automatically applies DST.

Notes: When this checkbox is selected, the system will not make DST adjustments when calculating the RTU time offsets.

If you select this checkbox, also select Use Daylight Savings Time.

Use Measurement Advisor Timestamp

For information on this field, refer to volume 2 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
