To create an Excel template based on an existing Classic PI record

In the Advanced Database Editor (ADE), open an existing classic point that you want to use as a template.

Enter the desired name in the Tag Name field. For example, Template1.

Configure the fields as desired for the template record.

Save your changes.

On the Classic table select the newly-created template record.

Select Table > Export to Excel.

When prompted, select the directory where you want to store the template.
