It is recommended that you use the Services application or Services Control Manager (SCM) to control or configure the Open Platform Communications (OPC) Client service. Services is a Windows application that appears under Administrative Tools.
When you start the OPC Client, it can either obtain its settings from a configuration file, or specify Start parameters as defined in Start the Open Platform Communications (OPC) client with specified parameters. If no parameters are specified, configuration parameters are retrieved from the configuration file when the OPCClient starts. The file location for the 64-bit client is %DNAInstallRoot%\Tools\config\opcClient\opcClientWS_x64.xml. For the 32-bit client the file location is %DNAInstallRoot%\Tools\config\opcClient\opcClientWS_Win32.xml. Both client versions involve opening the Services Control Panel. The 32-bit client is called "OASyS DNA OPC Client Service Win32", and the 64-bit client is called "OASyS DNA OPC Client Service x 64".
When the OPC client is running, it outputs the required information (debug, performance or monitor) to a log file. The log file is in a "log" folder within the OPC client installation folder. The maximum size of log file is 5MB. There may be up to 10 archived log files in the log folder.
