Preferred mode

In a communication outage scenario between two distributed systems, the Preferred mode is the mode that the system selects after communication between the two systems is restored. In a case where the Preferred mode was not configured the system assigns the polling responsibility—the Owning mode—to the mode that was last activated (based on the timestamp).
