Set a point's on/off delay duration

Follow this procedure to delay the time at which, for a given point, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA would normally a) generate limit, flatline, and setpoint creep alarms and b) generate return to normal alarms.
Note: In the following procedure, an analog point is used as an example. The procedure is the same for rate points. The Alarming tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box is opened through the analog table listing in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE, and further information on the analog table, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation and RealTime tables, respectively.
To set a point's on/off delay duration
-
Navigate to the Alarming tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box.

-
In the Alarming on-delay section, set the on-delay time in seconds for the desired alarm levels.
When an alarm condition occurs, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA waits this many seconds before generating an alarm.
If the point enters another alarm state before the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates the delayed alarm for the first alarm state, then:
-
The timer continues to count and does not restart.
-
If the new alarm state has an on-delay time that is less than the on-delay time for the first alarm state, the timer adjusts downwards to the lower value. If the timer has already been counting down for a number of seconds that exceeds the on-delay time for the new alarm state, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA immediately generates an alarm. For example, if a point enters an alarm state with an on-delay time of 60 seconds, and then, 30 seconds later, enters a new alarm state with an on-delay time of 20 seconds, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA immediately generates an alarm.

-
In the Alarming off-delay section, set the off-delay time in seconds for the desired alarm levels.
When a return to normal condition occurs, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA waits this many seconds before generating a return to normal alarm. If the point returns to the normal state before this period expires, the hold is canceled and no alarm is generated.
